En su análisis del libro «Competing on Analytics» Venkatesh Rao señala:

[…] analytics, as understood in this book, is about smart people asking the right questions, and trying to guide their thinking with the right sorts of glorified and opaque black-boxes fitted around data. Analytics by themselves will not provide you a clear and sound way to tell signals apart from noises. Conceptually powerful models (like, say, classical mechanics) do that. Conceptually weak models (like regressions) don’t.
